Not only do we have a longing to love and be loved by others, but we also long to love and be loved by God. Some of his scenes were a bit contrived (how did the wind move the balloon in just the right direction to save Joe. My views are much more liberal than many of hers, and I still learn so much from her books because she explains things well, uses good examples, and quotes scripture throughout. I started this book and put it down at least once before I finished it. Everyone who knows William Thomson knows that he is not only a great economist but also a master expositor, be it in his papers and books or in his talks. Dawson uses Pinyin rather than Wade-Giles, which is a welcome shift in my eyes, as Wade-Giles often feels overwrought even if it sometimes comes closer to the true pronunciation, and there is a nifty conversion chart included in this edition.
